The Spirit Arrives

  • by

Pastor Dennis Allan continues our study of the book of Acts, this week focusing on Acts 2:1-13. It’s the story of the Spirit’s arrival on Pentecost, fulfilling Jesus’ promises and Old Testament prophecy. The Spirit arrives and takes up residence in the apostles’ lives, empowering them for mission and service. The Spirit doesn’t pull the apostles inward, but pushes them out to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom to every “God-fearing” Jew in Jerusalem, on that day. The Spirit gives the apostles what they need to accomplish what only God can. And, we believe the same is true today. The Spirit dwells inside every person who believes in Jesus, empowering us for mission and service, able to give us whatever we need to accomplish what only God can.
